Inspired by her own private archive of textiles and ledgers, Kate Teyssier’s furnishing fabrics reflect her experienced understanding of design and colour and celebrate the unique character of her collection. Based in her Essex design studio Kate works closely with family run printers and weaving mills, developing on traditional techniques to produce these individual textiles. 

After studying historical handwoven textiles and working for 10 years in the decorating industry, Kate returned to the heritage sector working as an archivist for a national museum, which allowed her to further explore her passion for the subject before developing her own textiles. In 2016 she co-founded the School of Textiles with textile historian, Mary Schoeser, and continues to consult for heritage institutions such as the National Trust, English Heritage and the V&A Museum.

Using her own archive of several thousand textiles, ledgers, documents, paper designs and books, Kate has created a beautiful and unique range of textiles to suit any elegant interior.
